We took our 9-day trip through Belize with a day trip across the Guatemalan border to Tikal during the month of April. After landing in Belize City we hopped in our rental SUV for the western town of San Ignacio to explore its surrounding mountains, jungles, and Mayan ruins. While in the area, we also took a day trip across the border and wandered through the infamous Tikal; immersed ourselves in the ATM Cave; and hung out with Lindo the Jaguar before heading back east for a quick flight to island life on Ambergris Caye. We then spent several days snorkeling among the sharks, rays, and reefs; touring the Great Blue Hole and coastline by plane; and golf carting our way to consume all the food and beverage this little island had to offer. Overall, this was a fantastic Belizean experience that managed to strike a great balance between the jungle and beach.
